Volkswagen announced on the 26th that it will unveil a new entry-class electric vehicle at the “IAA Mobility 2025” in Munich, Germany, from September 9 to 14 and complete the “urban electric vehicle family.”
Volkswagen operates an open space, an open experience exhibition space, in Odeon Square in downtown Munich. Volkswagen plans to introduce four new cars for the first time in the world, including a new electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) concept car, a new T-rock and a limited edition golf GTI edition.
The newly unveiled entry-level electric vehicle concept car is a blueprint for a mass production model that will complete the urban electric vehicle family of “Brand Group Core,” which consists of major volume brands within the group such as Volkswagen, Skoda, Seart, and Coupra. It is expected to present new standards for electric vehicles in the segment in all aspects of design, quality, space, and efficiency.
“This concept car shows the future of a reasonable electric vehicle that Volkswagen will present in the European market,” said Kai Grünitz, a member of the board of directors in charge of Volkswagen brand technology development. “It will be released in the market next year as a T-cross electric vehicle.”
Meanwhile, various programs such as GTI History Wall, racing simulators, and personalized artificial intelligence (AI) experiences are provided in the exhibition space, allowing anyone from children to adults to enjoy the adventure area as if playing through the Discovery Rally. In the ‘Future Material Lab’, Volkswagen-based research institutes and design experts will introduce recycled innovative materials.
