Hyundai is preparing a new electric car that will be shown in Munich at the Motor Show , which will be held from September 9-14, 2025. Among other things, the new car will receive the Apple CarPlay Ultra interface. This is reported by 9to5Mac.
The new car will occupy an intermediate position between the Inster and Kona electric cars, but will be called Ioniq 3, as it will work on Hyundai’s most advanced electric vehicle platform. Mass production of the new product will begin in early 2026 in Turkey.
The Ioniq 3 will be front-wheel drive with a 58.3 kWh or 81.4 kWh battery for a WLTP range of up to 587 kilometers. The electric car will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than half a second and will use a 400 V electric charging system.
The Ioniq 3 will be a digital car, and Hyundai will be the first company since Aston Martin to offer Apple CarPlay Ultra, while many other brands have decided not to integrate the system. Unlike the usual systems, CarPlay Ultra provides information for all the driver’s screens, including real-time content and sensors on the dashboard.
Hyundai also introduced its own Pleos Connect infotainment system based on Android Automotive earlier this year. Owners of Pleos-equipped electric vehicles will also be able to choose whether to pay for optional features, such as installing mobile apps.
