A main road in Greater Manchester was closed off by emergency services following an incident on Monday evening (September 1).
Witnesses reported seeing a 'major crash' on the eastbound carriageway which resulted in the A580 being closed off.
Pictures showed fire engines and ambulances lining the road near Worsley following the serious crash at around 7.30pm.

The road was later closed off with drivers forced to divert. One man had to be cut free from a car, with two people rushed to hospital for treatment from the scene
One motorist claimed a police car was involved, and said: "It had just happened when I was there, and I couldn’t get through so people were turning around."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 7.30pm on Monday 1 September, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the East Lancashire Road in Worsley.

“Two fire engines from Farnworth and the technical rescue unit from Leigh were quickly mobilised to the incident, which involved two cars.
“Firefighters used specialist equipment to extricate a man from one of the vehicles. Two people were taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service for precautionary checks.
“Fire crews were in attendance for about 45 minutes.”
Greater Manchester Police have been approached for a statement.
