Police in New Jersey are looking for dozens of people who allegedly took over a city street and damaged police cars in what turned into a chaotic scene.
It occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Secaucus Road and County Avenue in Secaucus, according to police. That’s where there were more than 100 vehicles that “took over” the road, police said, while driving recklessly and doing donuts in the street.
When officers got there, they were quickly surrounded by more than 50 people. Some of the crowd jumped on top of the marked police vehicles, while other shot fireworks at and under the cars, according to Secaucus police.

None of the officers were hurt, some of the police vehicles did sustain damage. Other police were called in from nearby areas, and the crowd scattered. None of the officers were hurt.
The police chief said a task force would be assembled to find the people responsible.
“Our officers came under attack last night and I will not tolerate this unrest,” Chief Dennis Miller said. “Secaucus is not going to be the place where these criminals operate with impunity!”
