This British man decided to drive several new electric cars, including Audi and BMW, until they die to see which one lasts the longest.
He decided that the best test was to drive them like normal from Oxford, England, to Edinburgh, Scotland, which was roughly 370-380 miles depending on the route he took.
The five EVs in his test were a Genesis GV70, BMW iX, Audi Q6 e-tron, Kia EV9, and a Polestar ,3 which he tested in that order.
Each EV put up a good fight, but there was one EV to rule them all, which even exceeded the mileage of the trip, with others falling out of the race on his big odyssey.

There’s nothing like a good experiment, especially when it comes to comparing cars against each other, but amongst fierce debate about the best EVs, this man decided to take matters into his own hands and see which one is the best.
Starting at 100 percent battery charge with five different brand new electric cars, he decided to set out on a journey between Oxford in England, which is about 370-380 miles depending on the route you take.
Unironically, Mat Watson decided to start with the Genesis GV70, which also travelled the shortest distance before it ran out of battery, only going 270 miles and nowhere near the full planned trip.
The EV progressively limits power from just under five percent, at ‘zero percent’, it locks into Park Mode, but there’s a hidden neutral release so you can push it to a charger.
Next up, he tried the BMW iX and the Audi Q6 e-tron.
The BMW did an impressive show by going 366 miles on a single charge, very nearly making it to the final destination; the Audi only went 325 miles, missing out by quite a lot.
The BMW has a range extender mode that you can squeeze some further miles out of, and the Audi auto-switched into Eco Mode at 20 percent battery and then traveled just 2.5 miles beyond zero percent.
His penultimate test was the Kia EV9, which did better than the Genesis and Audi, but only by a little bit, being able to go 329 miles, still not far enough to get it to Edinburgh.
Even though the power dropped hard, the EV still managed to limp 12 miles past ‘zero percent’ on the battery.
The winner by far was the Polestar 3 with an incredible run of 390 miles, thereby actually going further than the final Edinburgh stop.
The EV gave Mat many warnings and then went into to ‘Turtle Mode’ when it reached the end of the battery, it crept for a bit past zero percent battery, but locked at 390.1 miles.
It seems clear then that the Polestar 3 is the best EV in this race by far, and you’ll get a lot of battery range for your buck; however, other EV tests have proven that Teslas and other EVs are reliable too.
