The Hybrid-G 150 4×4 versions of the Duster and the Bigster have a combined range of 1,500 km between refueling stops
A new chapter is opening for Dacia’s rugged SUVs, as the brand brings a fresh powertrain to the Duster and its larger sibling, the Bigster. The setup blends hybrid technology with bi-fuel capability, allowing the SUVs to run on both gasoline and LPG. With a potential driving range of 1,500 km (932 miles), it is designed to cut running costs by up to 30% compared with their gasoline-only counterparts.
Under the hood lies a new turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system that generates 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque. The setup also includes a rear-mounted electric motor producing 31 hp (23 kW) and 87 Nm (64 lb-ft). The combined output is 152 hp (113 kW / 154 PS), making it one of the most potent options for the Duster and Bigster duo.
Transmission And Drive Modes
The engine is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, complete with steering-wheel paddles, a first for Dacia. The electric motor has its own two-speed gearbox and can decouple the rear axle when conditions allow, helping conserve fuel. Four-wheel drive remains available up to 140 km/h (87 mph), while the driver can switch between six modes: Auto, Eco, Snow, Mud/Sand, Lock, and Hill Descent Control.

Energy is stored in a 48V lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 0.84 kWh that charges with regenerative braking. Dacia claims the hybrids can run on electric power for up to 60% of the time in urban environments.
Fuel Savings With LPG
Both SUVs feature twin 50-liter (13.2-gallon) tanks, one for gasoline and one for LPG. Combined, they provide a WLTP-rated range of 1,500 km (932 miles). In markets like France, where LPG prices have dipped to just €0.97 per liter ($4.29 per gallon), the savings are significant. Compared with the mild-hybrid 130 4×4 that runs solely on gasoline, the new setup lowers operating costs by as much as 30%.

Furthermore, Dacia has introduced a few upgrades for the Duster, including new interior upholstery and lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat on the Journey trim, and a new set of black alloy wheels on the Extreme trim.
The hybrid-G 150 4×4 versions of the Duster and Bigster will be available to order in European markets by the end of the year. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
Expanded Engine Range For The Duster
Dacia also confirmed that the Duster’s entire lineup will be refreshed by 2026. Alongside the new Hybrid-G 140 4×4, buyers will see the introduction of Eco-G 120, mild-hybrid 140, and hybrid 155 versions. Each relies on the newer 1.2-liter turbo three-cylinder engine, which will phase out the older 1.0-liter unit. With this shift, the less powerful Eco-G 100, mild-hybrid 130, and hybrid 140 will be retired.
