A car drove into a group of pedestrians in Berlin, Germany, on Thursday as children are reported to be among the injured.
The incident happened at around 1:10pm local time at the junction of Dohnagestell and Seestraße, a major road in Berlin-Wedding to the northwest of the city centre. At least 19 people were injured, with the youngest victim being reportedly only seven years old.
Several children sustained minor injuries whilst an accompanying adult was seriously injured, a Berlin fire brigade spokesperson said.

Berlin police have published a statement on X, claiming the driver was a young man who turned on red light. 
The post said: “A 20-year-old car driver is believed to have turned from Dohnagestell into Seestraße whilst the traffic light was red, striking several people from a group of pedestrians who were crossing on a green light. One woman was seriously injured and three children were lightly injured. They were admitted to hospital. All the injured were treated by the Berlin Fire Brigade (@Berliner_Fw) and psychological emergency support services were also called to the scene.”

Latest reports of the horrifying car collision in Berlin reveal at least 19 people have been injured, with the youngest victim only seven years old. Two children were hospitalised.

The incident happened at around 1:30pm local time (12:30pm BST)  at the corner of Dohnagestell and Seestraße, a large road in Berlin-Wedding to the northwest of the city centre.
The car injured several people including ‘many children’, according to the German newspaper Bild. Some were lightly injured and an accompanying adult suffered severe injuries, a spokesperson for the Berlin fire brigade said. 
Three of the 15 children were taken to Vitchow Hospital nearby. They were reportedly aged 7-8 years old.
