The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has identified a man who died after being hit by a car in Garner.
Troopers were called on Saturday, Aug. 30, just before 8:30 p.m. to reports of a person being hit on Interstate 40 East near mile-marker 308.
Troopers said the person who died was 21-year-old Joseph Viccaro III. He was struck by a car while attempting to cross the eastbound travel lanes.
No charges have been filed.
