According to the AA’s traffic alert, the incident was first reported just after 7.20am today.
There are reports of queueing traffic.
The incident happened just outside Polegate.
On its traffic bulletin, the AA said: “Road closed and queueing traffic due to car fire on A27 Lewes Road both ways from Station Road (Drusilla’s Roundabout) to Thornwell Road (Arlington / Litlington turn off).”
