THERE has been disruption in a village near Dudley today after a car crashed into a popular pub. 
   Images show the aftermath of a car having driven into the side of The Old Bush in Swindon, South Staffordshire, in the early hours of this morning (October 30). 
   The pub has been closed today, as has the road outside it, while work to assess the damage has been underway. 
   On social media, the pub said a “speeding car” crashed into the side of the building (Image: Newsquest) 
   No injuries have been reported as a result of the crash, with a statement from emergency services suggesting the occupants of the car fled the scene. 
   West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Police were called to the scene, along with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. 
   A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambualnce Service said: “We were called to reports of an RTC on High Street in Swindon, Dudley at 1.03am. 
   “An ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene, where, on arrival, crews found a car had come off the road and hit a building.

   “Following a search of the area, no patients were found and we were stood down.” 
   In a statement posted on its social media, The Old Bush said: “Early hours this morning, the pub was hit by a speeding car, leaving a very large hole in the pub. 
   “Everyone is okay. We are waiting for a structural engineer to assess the safety of the building, and will remain closed until further notice. 
   “The road outside the pub is also closed until further notice. 
   “Sorry for inconvenience, and we hope to see you all again soon.”

   A member of staff from a neighbouring business said customers have been talking about hearing a “loud crash” all day, although he did not witness the crash himself. 
   Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service have both been contacted for further information.
