Alana Thompson, known to reality pageant followers as Honey Boo Boo, was in a car crash this week, her mother shared on social media.
June Shannon, who goes by Mama June, posted a video Sept. 26 on Instagram, revealing that her daughter is “at home and resting” after she “T-boned” on the road.
Shannon said the other vehicle hit the driver’s side of Thompson’s car, adding that the accident “could have been a lot worse.”
Thompson was initially taken to an area hospital with back pain and “some headache issues,” before recovering at home, Shannon said.
In the caption, Shannon explained that Thompson was on her way to a hair appointment when she was hit, adding that she was set to start clinicals for nursing school the next day. People reported in May 2025 that Thompson had started school at Regis University in Colorado.
“She is banged up a little bit but other than that she is OK,” Shannon wrote of her daughter’s “first car wreck.”
After rising to fame as a child pageant contestant on the hit TLC series “Toddlers & Tiaras,” Thompson starred in her own show, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” from 2012 to 2014.
In 2017, Shannon starred in her own We TV reality show, “Mama June: From Not to Hot,” focusing on her weight loss journey. The TLC spinoff is now titled “Mama June: Family Crisis” and follows the entire family.
