The suspects left the scene in a vehicle and Oakland officers located it and attempted a traffic stop. The suspects did not comply and sped off at a high rate, police said, and the department made the decision not to pursue the vehicle.
Instead, OPD’s police helicopter followed the suspect’s vehicle into Hayward, where it ultimately collided with another vehicle near Hesperian Boulevard and Turner Court.
Three suspects, two of which were juveniles, were transported to an area hospital with injuries ranging from minor to critical. The driver of the second vehicle was also transported to an area hospital, and medical personnel listed them in stable condition, according to police.
Police are looking for at least two additional suspects in connection with the attempted robbery.
