Audi welcomed FC Bayern Munich players to Neuburg an der Donau for the handover of their company cars for the new season. The players selected their vehicles from Audi’s range of fully electric and hybrid models, reflecting the brand’s focus on performance and innovation. The day combined the vehicle handover with a driving experience and a behind-the-scenes look at Audi’s Formula 1 project.
Captain Manuel Neuer and several teammates chose the Audi Q8 SUV TFSI e quattro, a plug-in hybrid combining strength and efficiency. Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Michael Olise opted for the all-electric RS e-tron GT performance, while young talent Tom Bischof selected the compact Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron. Joshua Kimmich, a father of four, went for the seven-seater Audi Q7 SUV S line TFSI e quattro, emphasizing practicality and space.
Marco Schubert, Member of the Board for Sales and Marketing at AUDI AG, expressed his satisfaction with the choices: “The FC Bayern players chose vehicles that reflect the diversity of our range – from the compact Q4 e-tron to the powerful Audi Q8 and the sporty RS e-tron GT. Everyone found a model that suits their needs.”
For FC Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, the event continues a valued tradition between the club and the carmaker. “The vehicle handover from Audi to FC Bayern is a long-standing part of our calendar and reflects our dependable partnership. After 23 successful years together, we continue to pursue the same ambitious goals and motivate each other to reach top performance,” he said.
After receiving their new vehicles, the players tested their skills on the Audi driving experience’s dynamic course. They pushed the limits of models like the RS e-tron GT performance on a track designed for excitement and precision. Schubert noted the enthusiasm from the team: “It’s great to see how excited the players are about driving our flagship electric models. It shows how engaging electric mobility can be.”
The day continued with a private tour of the Audi F1 Project, where players explored the assembly workshop for the V6 hybrid engines and the advanced “Mission Control Room.” They observed the dynamic simulator and test benches used for engine development, gaining a closer look at the technology driving Audi’s Formula 1 ambitions.
For one hundred Audi employees, the event also became a memorable occasion. Winners of an internal company competition joined the day’s activities, meeting the players, collecting autographs, and taking photos. Sixteen employees had the honor of personally handing over the keys to the new vehicles, a moment that brought fans and athletes together through a shared appreciation of precision, teamwork, and innovation.
