Audi unveils a bold new design in Milan.
Audi recently ended the eras of two of its most celebrated sports models, the R8 supercar, with its incredible V10 engine, and the TT, an undeniable icon of automotive design that pushed the industry forward with its dashing, sleek, modern looks and fun-to-drive character. However, with those cars officially retired as Audi pursues electrification and transforms its lineup, a significant void is left in the brand’s lineup for enthusiasts without those sports car icons, one that might be filled as Audi has revealed a new concept sports car in Milan, Italy.
A hub of design excellence in fashion, interiors, and cars alike, the new Audi Concept C features striking looks fitting of a vehicle that has Milan as a birthplace. Its front fascia is sleek and modern, yet inspired by legendary designs like the Auto Union Type C race car and the third generation of the Audi A6. Meanwhile, its design as a whole, which is meant to inform the looks of future Audi models, is free of any extraneous elements, focusing on simplicity, while the Concept C itself is said to preview a future production model.
The Concept C is a roadster with a seemingly targa-style roof design that combines open-air thrills with the benefits of a coupe. Presented in a “Titanium” color, the Concept C’s design evokes warm elegance that is still futuristic. Inside, haptic controls and a 10.4-inch foldable center display makes the vehicle high-tech while still retaining its integral simplicity and intuitive nature for an engaging driving experience and timeless appeal.
With a look that suggests a production version would succeed the TT, the reveal of the new Audi Concept C marks a possible exciting return from Audi to the realm of making true, dedicated sports cars since the absence of the beloved TT and R8. As the brand also gears up to enter the Formula 1 grid, a very bright future is ahead for Audi and the future vehicles that will wear its iconic four rings.
