The Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) now offers a digital version of its lifting point guide, which provides OEM-recommended lifting points for frame-engaging lifts.
The ALI Lifting Points Guide identifies points that are appropriate to place a lift, such as a two-post lift, on the undercarriage.
“Not following this guidance may lead to vehicle damage or lift operator injury,” ALI says on its website
The guide is updated annually to reflect the latest vehicle specs and currently includes the 2026 vehicle lifting points for thousands of model year 2000-2026 cars, SUVs, vans, light-duty trucks, and EVs sold in the U.S. and Canada. It also includes 250 undercarriage illustrations as suggestions for safely lifting vehicles.
“The new digital version has the same content and layout as the familiar print guide, with the added benefit of immediate, always-on access through any device for maximum convenience,” ALI says.
The view can be customized with magnification and a light or dark mode can be selected, along with full screen. Search functions allow for a vehicle to be found with keyword search. Areas of the guide can also be highlighted and notes can be made.
The digital option can be accessed on up to three devices, additional software is not needed, and single-page printing is available.
Access for the 2026 subscription will expire on Jan. 2, 2027.
A print option is also available for purchase individually or bundled with the digital option. The guide can be purchased here
Critical updates made between editions can be found in the ALI newsroom.
