A baby boy has died after a ute crashed into a car parked on the side of a Gold Coast motorway.
Emergency services were called to the Pacific Motorway at Gaven at 2:50am on Sunday.
Police said initial investigations indicated a silver Jeep was parked on the side of the northbound M1, near the Smith Street on ramp, when it was struck by a grey utility.
A male infant who was in the Jeep was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital with life-threatening injuries but died a short time later.
The driver of the Jeep, a 24-year-old Ormeau Hills woman, was also taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the Toyota, a 51-year-old Loganlea man, sustained minor injuries.
The forensic crash unit is investigating the incident.
