Kostecki serves the drive-though and has re-joined in 15th place over 60 seconds behind the race leader.
Kai Allen, who was passenger in the collision, has sustained huge damage to the back of his Grove Racing car. Kostecki overtook Allen and was unable to break, smashing the back of No.26 car.
After that collision, the stewards have given Kostecki a drive-though penalty.
This happened just a lap after DJR had a slow stop to put a new battery in the Ford.
Brodie Kostecki, on his first lap in the rain, goes straight into the back of Kai Allen and the two go off at the first turn.
"Locked the wheels and smashed into the back of the Penrite car," said Mark Skaife.
This may end in a penalty for Kostecki.

Mark Larkham has admitted that a 'clear patch' is coming for Bathurst in terms of rain, which will make this race a game of what team knows what tyres to be on at the right time.
But after that, the cloud brings even worse rain for the final stages of the race. Rain is currently very heavy at Mount Panorama and we have a set of driver change stops happening in the next laps.
When we started at 11.45am AEDT is was 21 degrees, it is now 12 degrees on track.
So what will teams be thinking to keep themselves in the race?

Zak Best has now moved into second as David Russell falls back from first to third in a couple of laps.
"I reckon he actually overheated them [the tyres] now and they are wearing," said Crompton.
Jayden Ojeda moves himself into first place after a battle for top spot with David Russell.
The Walkinshaw Andretti United team is cheering for the young gun in the garage after his move at The Chase.
Jamie Whincup narrowly missed collision with the wall with a slide into turn two.
"Huge slide," said Neil Crompton.
Whincup is currently running in 13th place.
