A boy has been seriously injured in a collision near Tiverton High School this afternoon (Thursday, September 11).
The child was hit by a car on the A3126 Bolham Road at 3.20pm.
Devon and Cornwall Police and the ambulance service were called to the scene.
The boy has suffered a serious leg injury and has been taken to hospital.
Bolham Road remains closed in both directions at the Bolham roundabout.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Police were called at 3.20pm on Thursday, September 11, following a collision between a child and a car on Bolham Road, Tiverton.
"Ambulance also attended.
"The boy sustained a serious leg injury and has been taken to hospital.
"The road is currently closed from Bolham roundabout."
It is not clear if the boy was a pupil at the school.
