LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A Brightline train collided with a car on the tracks in Lake Worth Beach on Thursday afternoon.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) said the vehicle was struck by a Brightline train at the intersection of 12th Avenue South and South Dixie Highway just after 1 p.m.
Upon arrival, PBSO said deputies discovered that the vehicle had stalled on the train tracks before being hit by the oncoming train. The driver of the vehicle was also struck during the impact.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue personnel arrived on scene and transported the driver to a nearby hospital. As of this writing, the driver’s condition and identity remains unknown.
PBSO said that the investigation into the crash is active and ongoing.
