The Broomielaw is currently closed to all traffic between York Street and Oswald Street.
A building has collapsed onto a car in Glasgow city centre as Storm Amy batters Scotland with winds of up to 100mph.
The Broomielaw was closed in both directions between York Street and Oswald Street around 6.20pm, and police are on the scene.
The derelict building was formerly the Minstrel’s pub, known for featuring one half of a lifeboat on its facade.
Glasgow City Council has urged drivers to avoid the area.
An amber alert has been issued, which will bring heavy rain and gusts of up to 100mph within the worst-affected areas in the north-west of the country.
