2025 is a great year to buy a new car for a range of key reasons. However, it’s important to consider carefully whether these reasons stack well for your needs. Following this thought, today, we’re exploring six key things you should know before you buy in 2025. In turn, this should help you find the right approach for your car-buying goals.
There are only a few months left of 2025. Still, don’t miss out on your dream new vehicle by putting it off ‘til next year! Indeed, now might just be a good time to buy, provided you’re aware of the current car trading climate.
If you’re hoping to buy a car on finance, be it new or used, there’s some good news! Falling interest rates may make this more affordable with slightly lower monthly repayments. As such, this is well worth considering, especially given the current rate is frozen until November. Of course, this could always change in the future, though!
Alongside the increasing affordability of car finance, prices on electrics are largely falling across the board. New models are getting much more realistic on prices, encouraging more and more buyers to give them a chance. At the same time, a growing number of EVs are also coming up for sale used. And, of course, their dramatic depreciation hasn’t changed much. Given these, the overall affordability of EVs is increasing significantly, making it much easier for buyers to invest in 2025.
Around the end of the year, many dealers sell off their remaining stock at a discount; this allows them to clear room for new year models. The benefits to buyers here are obvious, and these sales will likely be starting soon for 2025.
Not only does this make it a great time to buy used, but this can also trigger an increase in the number of second-hand models available. With sellers eager to sell these on to upgrade, prices on used tend to fall at this time of year. So, there are bargains to be had all across the car-buying world.
Still, while there are great bargains to be had right now, it’s crucial you don’t rush into a decision. After all, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Luckily, by running a car history check before you hand over any money, you can double check the seller’s claims. In turn, this may highlight any red flags that could help you avoid a potentially dishonest sale. After all, there’s no point saving money at the outset if the car needs thousands to get it running smoothly!
With the year now rolling to a close, whether or not to buy a car now can seem like a loaded question. However, in reality, there are plenty of great opportunities for those looking to buy at the moment. So, if 2025 has been on the cards as your year to invest, it may be worth seeing what’s available in your area to help.
