The BYD Ti7 plug-in hybrid family-oriented SUV debuts at the Bangkok Motor Expo 2025 in Thailand as the brand’s new global model. The Ti7 rapidly became a hot seller in China, selling 50,000 units in just 80 days. BYD expects this SUV to repeat its success in overseas markets.
The BYD Ti7 entered the domestic market under the Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 (Tai 7 / Titanium 7) name. Priced between 179,800 and 219,800 yuan (25,410 – 31,060 USD), it sold over 50,000 units in 80 days. According to China EV DataTracker, the Ti7 delivered 28,152 units from September to October this year. It means the Ti7 sold over 21,850 units domestically in November. Now, BYD wants to solidify this model’s success by introducing it to overseas markets.
The BYD Ti7 debuted at the Bangkok Motor Expo 2025 as an “Urban SUV” with a DM 5.0 powertrain and 4WD. The display car was manufactured for the Chinese domestic market and later exported to Thailand by the company. Therefore, it has a steering wheel on the left and Chinese badges around the body.
The BYD Ti7 adopts a load-bearing body and a new design language. It has a boxy shape with a flat roofline and wide wheel arches. The car’s front end boasts matrix LED headlights. From the back, it has a swing-out taillight door with a storage compartment. Other highlights of the Ti7 include conventional door handles, 20-inch blackened rims, a LiDAR sensor, and large bumpers. Its dimensions are 4999/1995/1865 mm.
The car’s interior adopts a white color and seven displays: a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 12.3-inch instrument panel, a 26-inch W-HUD, two air-conditioning control screens, and two 13-inch BYD Pads in the rear row. The Ti7 adopts a large panoramic glass roof, 20 speakers, and ambient lighting. This vehicle is available with five seats only.
The displayed model is a top-trim car with a dual-motor 4WD. This system adopts a 1.5-liter turbocharged ICE for 115 kW (154 hp), and two e-motors for 360 kW (483 hp). Another highlight of this car is a 35.6 kWh LFP battery pack for 190 km of CLTC range. This model speeds up to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and offers a torque vectoring system.
The exact global launch date of the BYD Ti7 has not yet been announced. However, its debut at an exhibition in Thailand hints that we may see the Ti7 officially launched outside of China as early as next year.
