The second-generation Cadillac CT6 full-size sedan has been updated in China with new tech, a refreshed interior, and a lower starting price
It’s been more than five years since the Cadillac CT6 disappeared from American showrooms, yet in China, the flagship sedan hasn’t just survived, it’s evolved. As it heads toward 2026, the CT6 remains a staple of Cadillac’s Chinese lineup, refreshed once again to keep pace with the market’s steady appetite for premium sedans.
In news that won’t surprise anyone, the second-generation full-size luxury sedan is far cheaper than its U.S. predecessor, with Cadillac cutting the price again for this update, now starting at 289,900 yuan, or the equivalent of $40,700 at current exchange rates.

For those who’ve lost track, the first-generation 2020MY CT6 opened at $58,995 for the Luxury trim in 2019, climbed to $74,495 for Premium Luxury, and capped out at $96,495 for the Platinum in the United States.
Adjusted for inflation, that would range from $74,823 to $123,385 today. By that measure, the current Chinese version lands at nearly half the price of what American buyers once paid.
Cadillac gave the CT6 available in the People’s Republic a thorough refresh in 2023, making a host of visual updates and upgrading the interior. The newest iteration is mostly the same, but can now be purchased with a flamboyant white leather interior known as Cloud Tranquility White.
Three key versions of the full-size sedan are sold in China. Sitting alongside the base model is a version priced from 309,900 yuan or $43,500, while above it is a 329,900 yuan ($46,300) variant.
Power And Magnetic Ride Control
Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder delivering 233 hp (174 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque that’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Perhaps one of the most important updates for 2026, is the latest version of the Magnetic Ride Control, a system Cadillac says has received several refinements, and which is standard across the range.
The adaptive suspension continuously adjusts damping using magnetorheological fluid and electromagnets to improve both comfort and handling. At the front, the CT6 uses a double-wishbone setup, while the rear features an aluminum multi-link independent suspension.
What About The Interior?
The cabin is dominated by a curved 33-inch 9K display using the latest Cadillac operating system and supporting over-the-air updates. Buyers can order the CT6 with GM’s Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system, which includes six cameras, six millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars.
Interestingly, there’s no LiDAR, which has become quite commonplace on high-end vehicles sold in the local market.
Other important features include a thumping 19-speaker AKG audio system with speakers in the headrests and active noise cancellation. There is also a configurable ambient lighting system, a wireless smartphone charger, and plenty of brushed aluminum trim throughout.
A Slow Seller
Despite Cadillac’s efforts, the CT6 occupies only a small corner of the brand’s Chinese sales chart. Through the first six months of the year, just 209 examples have been sold, a reminder that even in China’s expansive luxury market, not every flagship finds a following.
