A woman died Saturday after a tree fell on a car she was in north of Carnation, according to State Patrol. 
A Subaru Forester was headed south around 1 p.m. on Carnation-Duvall Road Northeast, just north of Fay Road Northeast, when a tree fell on it, breaking apart on impact, Patrol said. 
The Subaru kept rolling forward and stopped against a guardrail, blocking the southbound lane of the road, also known as Highway 203, according to state troopers.
A passenger in the Subaru, a 44-year-old woman from Duvall, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Subaru driver, a 49-year-old man from Skykomish, was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
A Chevrolet Silverado with four people inside was driving north on the road when it was also hit by tree debris. The truck came to a stop, blocking the highway’s northbound lane.
No one in the truck was injured, including two children ages 8 and 17, according to Patrol.
Both lanes of Carnation-Duvall Road closed for more than three hours.
Winds peaked around 1 p.m. in rural King County, with gusts topping 30 mph in North Bend, according to the National Weather Service.
