One person was dead after vehicle crashed into a building in Jefferson City on Thursday.
On January 1, at 1:54 p.m., the Jefferson City Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a building on the 3300 block of North Ten Mile Drive.
Upon arrival, crews found the vehicle had struck the side of the building, encroaching into a living area and striking an occupant.
According to a press release, the vehicle had already been backed out of the building.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
The occupant, who was struck, was transported to a hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
The press release also mentions that fire personnel "utilized specialized shoring equipment to stabilize the building until the owner can make repairs."
The cause of the accident is currently being investigated.
