A car has smashed into a hair salon and another vehicle while being pursued by police this afternoon.
Emergency services were at the scene today, November 11, following the incident at Northern Design Hairdressing on 5 Marsh Road.
It was reported that, during the pursuit of a suspect, the individual crashed into the salon and collided with another vehicle before driving off and being stopped by police minutes later.
After approximately 10 minutes, it was reported that the suspect was detained by police.
When The Bolton News arrived on the scene at 2.45pm, a white Cupra Leon , which was hit by the suspect’s vehicle, was positioned in front of the salon, with considerable damage to the front right side of the vehicle.

The salon, which was reportedly closed at the time of the incident, had sustained considerable damage to its front door.
The owner of the salon building, Martyn Goodram, was contacted by a hairdresser at the salon after the incident took place.
“It’s a process of getting the building secure and getting contractors in,” said Martyn, as he stood outside the salon.
“Luckily, at the time, the hairdressers was closed.”

The debris in the road had been cleared to the pavement when The Bolton News arrived.
The area had not been cordoned off, however, there was tape and two cones alerting residents to a live wire that had been exposed following the collision.

It is currently unclear exactly what time the incident occurred.
As far as we know, there have been no major casualties following the incident.
A police helicopter was also spotted circling over Little Lever this afternoon, but it has not yet been confirmed if this was in connection with the incident.
Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for an official statement.
