A car crashed through a fence at a child care center in Coventry on Monday, sending five children in a playground to the hospital.
Child Care Plus is located between Tiogue Avenue, but the crash happened behind the building on South Main Street.

Police said more than a dozen children were playing in the playground when the car crashed into the fence.
Five children, 7 and 8 years old, were hurt. Four of them went to Hasbro Children's and one went to Kent Hospital. Their injuries were described as scrapes and bruises, but nothing serious.
The driver was said to be doing well.

Coventry police said on social media that South Main Street was closed in the area of the intersection with Tiogue Avenue, north to Bielers Lane.
Police urged drivers to avoid the area.
