A bizarre accident is being investigated on the New York State Thruway this afternoon. According to reports, a car traveling eastbound on Holmes Road crashed over a guardrail on Allegheny Road went airborne and landed on the New York State Thruway near Exit 58. Responders, including those from Chautauqua and Erie counties, were heading to the scene. The motorist may have been going at speeds of more than 100 mph. A car pulled over to check on the accident. The driver of the crashed vehicle then jumped into that car and drove westbound.
