A car has flipped onto its roof following a multi-vehicle crash on the M80 near Glasgow.
Emergency services raced to the incident at Junction 6 near Cumbernauld at around 2pm on Sunday, August 17.
Officers from Police Scotland and paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service remain at the scene following the collision.
It is currently unknown if there are any injuries.
Traffic was earlier being diverted away from the crash site, however, the stretch of road has since been reopened after being closed for nearly three hours.
Traffic is, however, still congested on the northbound carriageway on the approach to Junction 6.
Images from the scene show a dark coloured vehicle flipped onto its roof with multiple emergency service vehicles in attendance.
A statement from Traffic Scotland reads: "The M80 has now reopened between Junctions 6 and 6A following a collision earlier. Traffic is still extremely busy on the northbound carriageway on your approach to Junction 6 though. Please approach with caution."
The Record has approached Police Scotland for comment.
