A head-on crash between a car and a lorry has blocked the A350 in Wiltshire.
The crash, which is believed to have taken place shortly after midday on Thursday, December 11, saw a red Kia and a blue and white lorry collide on the A350 just north of Melksham.
The incident took place just past the Westlands Lane turn-off, and emergency services rushed to the scene.
Eyewitnesses have described seeing “significant front-end damage” to the Kia, and damage to the driver’s side of the lorry cab.
A reporter at the scene stated that the incident partially blocked the road, causing two-mile tailbacks in both directions stretching from the crash site all the way to Melksham.
As of 3pm, Wiltshire Police officers remained at the scene with the red Kia, and debris from the crash was strewn across the road.
Officers have confirmed to the Wiltshire Times that one person was taken to hospital, but there are not believed to be any serious injuries.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We attended a road traffic collision on the A350 at Beanacre near Melksham involving a lorry and a car, shortly after noon.
“There were no reported serious injuries.
“One person was taken to hospital as a precaution. There were no arrests.”
