The ninth annual CountryView Classic Car and Truck Show, held this past summer, is paying off for two local non-profit organizations.
Event Coordinator Tammy Haslip said the fundraiser was held at the CountryView campground in Wyoming on August 24, in support of Pathways Health Centre for Children and the Sarnia & District Humane Society.
“Through the participation of the car show contestants and a few raffles that we held, we were able to raise around $8,200 per charity,” she said.
Haslip called it a “milestone” for the volunteers to raise that much.
“We are very proud of that,” she said. “As for the car show, we also had over 240 cars in attendance this year, which is an all-time high.”
Cheque presentations were held this past weekend.
Haslip said it was an easy decision to make in deciding to support Pathways and the Humane Society.
“Everyone who is a volunteer has children and pets,” she said.
For the past two years, Haslip said donations from the car show have been earmarked for hospice care. 
Environment Canada issued a frost advisory for Sarnia-Lambton Wednesday morning.
Last month, the city issued seven permits for single family dwellings, totaling $2,950,000.
Lambton OPP said charges have been laid in connection with an incident Saturday where an officer was assaulted with a weapon.
It would stop yearly parole applications from convicted murderers, after their initial application is denied.
The September 20 fundraiser, put on by the Lambton Lions men's baseball team, generated $50,000.
