An injured person was taken to hospital after what police say was a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
The crash is believed to have happened on Bolton Road in Harwood close to the junction with Bradshaw Road and Lea Gate near the Crofters Pub on the evening of Tuesday November 4.
Police officers were called to the scene just before 6pm and the road remained closed later into the evening.
An eyewitness who had been using nearby Crompton Way to get home said: “It was chaos, it took me over an hour to get home which would normally be 20 minutes.
“We didn’t know what had happened, obviously we were concerned.
“Traffic was terrible in both direction Crompton Way towards Breightmet as well as towards Harwood.”

Road users reported delays in the area with cars and other vehicles backed up for much of the evening.
Police officers remained at the scene for much of Tuesday evening while an ambulance was reported in the area, but no fire and rescue crews appear to have been called.
The road was cordoned off from the Crofters pub leading up to the Morrisons supermarket on Lea Gate as officers went about their work.

An eyewitness said that he could see a bus inside the area cordoned off by police which was then seen to reverse out shortly before 7.40pm.
He said that within the wider road closure there was also a smaller cordon in place outside a row of terraced houses, with three cars inside the taped-off area.
As of around 8.20pm the smaller taped off area remained in place.

On Wednesday November 5 Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the incident appeared to have been a “serious road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian”.
They confirmed that officers had been called to the scene at around 5.55pm on the evening of Tuesday November 4 and that a person was taken to hospital with injuries.
But the GMP spokesperson confirmed that the injuries were “not as serious as first thought”.
