The Chevy Corvette is America‘s sports car, a peak of design, form, and function, so it’s only fitting that to help celebrate 250 years of the U.S., the company made a new Vette as well. And not just any Corvette, a one-of-a-kind ZR1X.
The ZR1X is increasingly known as America’s hypercar, not because it is a hypercar per se but because it has the power of one. It has the speed, too, making 1,250 horsepower in a hybrid system and getting around the Nürburgring in 6:49.275. The time made it the fastest American production car in Nürburgring history. The horsepower makes it terrifying.

The one-of-a-kind ZR1X Chevy made for America’s 250th anniversary next year is part of a group of Chevys called the Stars & Steel Collection. In addition to the Corvette ZR1X, there is a Silverado LD, Silverado EV, Silverado HD, and Colorado.
“Each vehicle receives curated exterior and interior color combinations, American flag-inspired graphics and select premium options that underscore patriotism,” Chevy said in a news release.

For the Corvette, that means a black or white exterior paint with stripes inspired by the American flag. Sill plates and a plaque are unique, with a build sequence number. There are three choices with wheels, including carbon fiber. There is a lot of red, including the seat belts, stitching, and, on some models, a red engine cover.
Chevy will make 250 Stars & Steel Collection Corvettes in total, including the one-of-a-kind ZR1X, which will be auctioned for charity in January at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event. The other Vettes can be had in a variety of trims, from the base Stingray to ZR1X. On Saturday, the Army-Navy football game in Maryland, the whole collection of cars will make its public debut. Chevy said the Silverados and the Colorado versions will not be limited in number like the Corvettes.
“The Stars & Steel Collection celebrates a key milestone for the country that not only served as the birthplace of our brand but has also been its home for nearly 115 years,” Scott Bell, a Chevy vice president, said in a statement.

The automaker did not announce pricing for the Stars & Steel Collection extras, though it did say that it would donate $250 from the sale of each car to charity. Production begins early next year.
