CHICAGO (WLS) — A Illinois Concealed Carry License holder shot a 17-year-old who was allegedly trying to steal a car on Monday, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened at about 3:42 a.m. in the 9400-block of S. Indiana Avenue, police said.
A 58-year-old man told police he heard a car alarm and saw two people inside his parked car.
The man said he saw one of the suspects pull out a gun, and that's when he fired his own weapon, police said.
Chicago police said the car owner has a valid FOID and CCL card.
A 17-year-old boy was shot in the right forearm and in the left knee. He was taken to an area hospital and is expected to be OK.
The second suspect ran off eastbound then got into a gray minivan.
Chicago police said no other injuries were reported.
No arrests have been made.
