PARSIPPANY, NJ — A 12-year-old boy is in serious condition after he was hit by a car while riding his electric scooter in Parsippany on Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, around 7:15 a.m., Parsippany police responded to a report of an accident near Halsey Road and Quaker Road.
Officers found that a boy had been hit by a 2014 Subaru Impreza on Halsey Road.
Police said that the boy was riding his electric scooter westbound on Halsey Road when he crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic, where the Subaru struck him.
The boy, who was wearing a helmet, sustained “serious injuries” from the crash and was rushed to the Morristown Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the Subaru stayed at the scene of the crash. Officials said that the Subaru’s speed was not a contributing factor to the collision.
