The City of Dillon announced on social media that their Safety Fest and crosswalk painting event scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled as a result of Tuesday’s fatal crash that killed a child bicyclist.
“Our hearts are with everyone affected,” said Mayor John McGinley. “Out of respect for our community, it is not the right time to hold this event.”
DILLON, Mont. – A child riding a bicycle was killed on Tuesday in a crash with a vehicle. 
Dillon police said the child was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. 
DPD said this is an active investigation and Montana State Patrol is assisting.
