A child has been taken to hospital after he was struck by a car outside a school in Lake Illawarra.

The 10-year-old boy was hit on Reddall Parade, outside Lake Illawarra South Public School, just before 8am on Friday, August 29.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and treated the boy at the roadside for injuries to his wrist and hip.
The boy was put into an ambulance and left the scene at 8.10am and then taken to Wollongong Hospital for further treatment.
His injuries are not life-threatening.
Police were called, and officers remain at the location talking to a man.
School staff remain outside with the police.
At this stage, it is unknown if the boy was a student at the school.
