It gives those priced out of a new family SUV another option
ANOTHER new badge muscled onto Britain’s driveways in the summer.
Now, Chinese car giant Chery is already beefing up its UK line-up with all-new SUVs.

Fresh off that glitzy London launch, the brand is rolling out slick, well-equipped family models that promise more kit for less cash.
The pitch is simple: sharp styling, big screens and generous kit lists, all priced to make established rivals sweat.
If the name sounds familiar, that’s because Chery has already been softening up the market with its spin-offs Omoda and Jaecoo over the past year.
Those brands have done the groundwork, and now the parent brand is stepping in to scale things up on UK roads in late 2025 and beyond.

Chery’s UK opening gambit centred on a pair of midsize SUVs, the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8, and is now moving on to a new flagship model, the Tiggo 9 CSH.
The car is a seven-seat plug-in hybrid you can pre-order now, with UK deliveries starting in December 2025.
These models together target the heart of the market with five- and seven-seat family appeal, and will be offered with conventional petrol power or the firm’s “Super Hybrid” plug-in hybrid tech for low running costs and school-run silence on electric power.
It’s a no-nonsense line-up designed to tempt buyers who might have been eyeing up the usual suspects but want fresher styling and more toys for the money.

Chery put on a full-court press in London earlier in the year, using a splashy showcase to hammer home its message that European brands will need to sharpen their pencils on price or get left staring at the rear lights.
It’s not idle talk either. With Chinese brands rapidly growing their share across Europe, Chery’s UK entry piles extra pressure on mainstream makers to deliver better value in 2026 new-car budgets.
Under the skin, the focus is on everyday usability rather than niche tech for its own sake.
Expect modern cabins with big digital displays and the usual phone mirroring, lots of family-friendly storage, and comfort features you’d normally have to pay extra for on rivals.
The hybrids are there to keep fuel bills sensible and emissions low without the faff of going fully electric, while petrol versions are expected to undercut many like-for-like competitors on list price.
If you’ve been priced out of a new family SUV or frustrated by how little kit you get at entry level, Chery’s arrival gives you fresh leverage.
It’s another competitive option with showroom appeal and headline-grabbing value, and it turns up the heat on the rest of the market.
