Collecting Cars Sealed Bids has launched with seven cars to demonstrate its new bidding initiative. Designed to provide a private method of sale for collector cars, the first seven-day auctions are now live and will close on September 4, 2025.
Among the opening listings is an unregistered delivery-mileage Ferrari 812 Competizione in Grigio Competizione with Giallo Fly details. There’s a one-of-seven 2013 RUF CTR3 Clubsport that qualifies for VAT and has covered only 143 miles. The platform will also host the first Tuthill SCRS to be offered for sale, the first of 15 built; based on a Porsche 993, it is finished in Pascha Red with a bespoke leather interior. All three cars are located in the UK.
The Collecting Cars Sealed Bids process follows the existing seven-day auction structure used by the site, but it differs in that bids are not made public. Only participants know their position in the auction, and only the successful bidder is informed of the final price. Sellers and buyers remain anonymous until the close of the sale.
“Sealed Bids is about combining our market-leading reach with the privacy that collectors increasingly demand,” said Edward Lovett, founder of Collecting Cars. “Some of the most significant cars change hands away from the public eye – and now we’ve built a platform that gives that same level of discretion but with the global marketing power that Collecting Cars is renowned for. The first Tuthill SCRS and a virtually unused Ferrari 812 Competizione are perfect examples of why this format matters, as they can be sold by a comprehensive listing but with total confidentiality.”
Other cars available include a Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, one of 19 built worldwide, located in Switzerland. A 2012 Lexus LFA based in Japan is also offered, originally delivered to the US and eligible for re-import. Two Ferrari Dino 246 models are listed as well – a concours-winning GTS based in the UK and a freshly restored GT located in Australia, one of only 35 finished in Giallo Dino.
