CINCINNATI — The man who led police on a chase in Cincinnati Wednesday before triggering a SWAT response “repeatedly rammed” a vehicle into a police car during the incident, according to court documents.
Police have arrested 18-year-old Marvoni Finnerson and charged him with felonious assault and aggravated burglary.
Cincinnati Interim Police Chief Adam Hennie said around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, a PIVOT officer tried to pull Finnerson over. Instead of stopping, Cincinnati police said Finnerson hit the officer’s patrol car multiple times and attempted to flee.
According to court documents, Finnerson “purposely used a vehicle as a dangerous weapon and repeatedly rammed it into a police vehicle that was occupied by a police officer.”
From there, Finnerson got out of his vehicle, pulled a gun out of his waistband and threw it into the woods, CPD said in a press release the next day.
Hennie told us Wednesday that a Cincinnati officer fired one shot at Finnerson, but did not hit him; CPD’s press release does not mention the shot fired.
Hennie said after the chase, police believed Finnerson went into an apartment at 5630 Winton Rd. and barricaded himself inside.
SWAT entered the building and arrested him. Court documents say Finnerson was trespassing and had,”without authorization,” entered another person’s apartment.

Hennie said neither the officers involved nor Finnerson were hurt during the incident.
In court Thursday morning, Finnerson was ordered to be held on a $750,000 bond.
Officers blocked off Winton Road at Dutch Colony Drive while the SWAT team and other law enforcement were on scene.
