NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) – A crash that involved a car and a tractor trailer closed two lanes on Route 72 eastbound early Thursday morning, according to state police.
The crash occurred between exits 2 and 1D. It blocked the right and center lanes. The incident was reported at 2:16 a.m.
State police said no one was hurt.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded for a fuel leak. The state Department of Transportation was notified of guardrail damage.
Traffic was diverted to the left lane while crews work to clear the scene.
The highway was briefly closed at one point, troopers said.
