A Raleigh intersection is closed after a car crashed into a utility pole, knocking out power to a traffic light and a handful of Duke Energy customers on Sunnybrook Road.
Raleigh police told WRAL News a car crashed into a utility pole on Sunnybrook Road near Holston Lane around 11:45 p.m. Thursday. The driver had minor injuries.

The WRAL Breaking News Tracker captured video of the damage. A utility pole was split and a line was hanging in the middle of the intersection of Sunnybrook Road and Holston Lane. The traffic lights at the intersection were without power.
Police units and tape blocked the intersection as a utility crew worked on repairs. As of 7 a.m., the intersection was remain closed. The car was no longer on scene.
Raleigh police said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
Due to its proximity to the closure, Wake Tech’s Perry Health Sciences Campus announced it would be operating on a 3-hour delay. The school said all campus entrances were blocked due to the downed power lines. Classes would start at 11 a.m.
