A man is dead after his car smashed into a building in Leigh in the early hours.
Emergency services were called to a collision on Wigan Road in Leigh, with reports of a Nissan crashing into a building.
A 39-year-old man was helped by members of the public and the emergency services, but later died of his injuries.
Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation into the crash and have asked anyone with information to come forward.
In a statement, they said: ‘At around 3.05 am, emergency services responded to reports of a collision on Wigan Road, close to the junction of Nel Pan Lane.

‘It is believed that the vehicle, a Nissan, had been travelling eastbound along Wigan Road before colliding with a building.
‘It is not believed that any other vehicles were involved.’
Last week, a driver was pulled out of his car by passersby after smashing into a Tube station entrance.
The dazed driver was pulled from the luxury car after it got wedged into railings leading to Newbury Park station in Ilford.
Bystanders arriving at the crash found a man sitting in the car with the air-bags deployed and the windscreen wipers still going.
One onlooker was heard saying ‘that is bad’ as oil leaked down the pedestrian pathway in Stainforth Road.
Police responded with paramedics to take a man, in his 20s, to hospital at 3.40pm on Saturday.
A Met spokesman said: ‘He has since been discharged and arrested on suspicion of driving without insurance, driving without a valid licence and dangerous driving. 
‘He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.’
