Authorities were in pursuit of a vehicle Saturday afternoon that came to an end when the driver and a passenger abandoned the car and ran into a residential neighborhood.
The pursuit was first reported in the Whittier area and traveled through Santa Fe Springs, Norwalk, Downey and La Mirada.

The driver of a black Nissan Sentra was being followed by officers with the Whittier Police Department, believed to be carjacking suspects.
For the majority of the pursuit, the driver had their headlights off and was seen driving on the wrong side of the road.
The chase came to an end when the driver abandoned the car and ran into a residential area.
Several police units were parked nearby as officers with flashlights scanned the area in search of the driver and passenger.
