NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) – A 24-year-old driver died early Monday morning after losing control of his car and striking a tree on Route 15 North, according to State Police.
Luis Fernando Rodas-Pech of Hamden was driving a northbound in the right travel lane when he lost control around 2:18 a.m., state police said.
The vehicle entered a yaw, departed the roadway to the right and struck a tree in the roadside near Exit 46, formerly Exit 59.
Rodas-Pech was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital by with suspected life-threatening injuries but was later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation. Police are asking witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage from the area at the time of the collision to contact Miko at 203-393-4200 or Patrick.Miko@ct.gov.
