DADE COUNTY, Ga. — A 27-year-old man was rushed to a local hospital after his car plunged 80 feet down the side of Sand Mountain near Trenton Wednesday morning.
Our crew on the scene has confirmed the man is now in stable condition.

This happened during rush hour along State Route 301.

Steep terrain proved a challenge. It took first responders more than an hour to get to the driver, and bring them back up the slope.

Right now, authorities haven't said why the unidentified driver went off the slope.
