A man was taken to hospital with a 'minor injury' following a collision on a busy road. Emergency services were called to Flixton Road, Urmston, following reports of the incident involving two vehicles this afternoon (August 16).
Police, ambulance and fire crews were at the scene where a man was rescued from one of the cars before being taken to hospital. The road was closed for a short while but has since reopened.
Police say that one of the drivers sustained a "minor injury" in the collision and has been taken to hospital to be "checked over".
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 1pm this afternoon (Saturday 16th August), two fire engines from Stretford and Sale fire station, along with the Technical Response Unit from Ashton, were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Flixton Road, Urmston.
“Crews arrived quickly at the scene. Firefighters worked with colleagues from North West Ambulance Service to rescue a man from one of the vehicles, who was then taken to hospital.
“Firefighters were in attendance for around fifty minutes.”
