A multi-vehicle crash stemming from a car that struck a deer has shut down all eastbound lanes on I-80 in Orland Park during the busy Thursday morning commute, with injuries reported and traffic and delays building.
About 5:39 a.m., Illinois State Police responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash on I-80 eastbound at milepost 144 near Wolf Road in Will County.

According to ISP, the incident began when a car struck a deer in the roadway. The car was then struck by four other passenger vehicles in a chain reaction crash, NBC 5 traffic reporter Kye Martin said.
According to ISP, the driver of the car that struck the deer was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries
As of 6:30 a.m., all eastbound lanes on I-80 near Wolf Road were shut down due to the crash, ISP said.
Martin noted the crash was impacting traffic across multiple south suburbs, including New Lenox, Mokena and Orland Park.
