The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) reports that two people were injured when a cyclist was hit by a car in Eppeldorf on Monday evening, with a major fire in Olm reported on Tuesday morning.
The first incident happened shortly after 6pm on the road to Berdorf in Eppeldorf. Emergency services confirmed that a cyclist was hit by a car in circumstances that have yet to be clarified.
Significant resources were deployed to the scene, including two ambulances, two fire service vehicles, the emergency medical service (SAMU) and an air ambulance.
According to the CGDIS report, two people were injured in the accident, although no information has been released on the severity of their injuries.
Since Monday evening, firefighters were also called to three separate fires: the first in Hoffelt, the second in Antoniushof, and the third in Olm – with at least one person was injured in the latter incident. No injuries were reported in the Hoffelt or Antoniushof fires.
The blaze in Olm that was reported just before 4am on Tuesday prompted a large-scale intervention involving four fire stations, two ambulances, and the Luxembourg emergency medical service (SAMU). The fire broke out in a residential building on the Groussgaass, the main road of the village, leaving one person injured.
