Mclaren are being very mysterious…no testing on day 1 and maybe day 2. What’s going on over at Woking?

Nothing weird. It’s a 5-day test, but teams can only run 3-days. Unless you get unlucky with weather a team giving themselves an extra day of development work or build isn’t that strange.

Hi Alan,
Seems like they are quietly confident. Was trying to trigger an article from Keith and read a discussion from the posters on this site….exciting times ahead!

Have they spent so much time and effort on winning the title last year that they had less resources to work on the 2026 car?

Is that new better more wheel looking wheels we are seeing also? Have to say the visuals so far for 2026 are looking a vast improvement over the landslugs we’ve got used to

I do like Racing Bulls’ wheels. And I hope we get some more bright colours that pop like theirs, from the remaining teams. C’mon Williams, Cadillac – you can do it.

I like the Audi livery, but to me it looks more like a McLaren than the McLarens themselves.

Was thinking the same thing myself. Does the the orange have any significance to Audi?

Black + red (kind of) and if the orange is yellow-orange you more or less got the German flag. I’m just guessing.

This really is a great looking generation of cars. So far, every one of them has looked fantastic with no ugly weird bits, no strange humps or bumps, wings that are all on proportion to the car, and so on.
Obviously, remains to be seen how the racing will fare with such extreme changes to both the aero concepts and the power delivery, but aesthetically at least these cars are absolutely banging.

I still can’t believe media outlets are posting the Haas renders and still failing to point out that they’ve put fat rear tyres on the front.
I don’t think I’ve seen any F1 website explicitly highlight this point. Or why Haas haven’t corrected their mistake.

Oh yeah! Thanks for highlighting. Reminds me of when Tyrell ran fronts on the rear at Hockenheim in the ’90s.. showing my age there!!

So far, I’d rank them like this:
1. Mercedes
2. Audi
3. Haas
4. Red Bull
5. Racing Bulls
Won’t rank the others until we’re seeing the final season liveries.
